We provide Physiotherapy services across our three hospital sites and in community settings including step up step down units and clinics, depending on the speciality.
Physiotherapists work with patients who have a wide variety of conditions such as frailty, mobility and balance problems, joint and muscle pains, neurological (nervous system) disorders, respiratory (breathing) issues, post-surgery rehabilitation, plus many more.
Common areas in which physiotherapy is used are:
Physiotherapy for Older Adults - Physiotherapy is often used to treat conditions that are particularly common in old age, such as frailty, mobility and balance issues, arthritis, osteoporosis, and hip and joint replacements. It is also an important part of general care for the elderly people by helping them to stay active and independent, reduce pain, and improve fitness.
Musculoskeletal / Orthopaedic - Physiotherapy is often used to treat conditions and injuries that affect the bones, joints and muscles, such as low back pain, sports injuries and post trauma. It is also used to assist rehabilitation after orthopaedic surgery.
Neurological - Physiotherapy can be used to help people who have a neurological condition that affects the nervous system, such as multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, stroke and cerebral palsy.
