The Maternity Voices Partnership (MVP) is a forum for maternity service users, providers and commissioners of maternity services to come together to design services that meet the needs of local women, parents and families in the Morecambe Bay area.
Members include mums, dads, parents-to-be, grandparents, NHS doctors and midwives from the local area and members of local community groups who provide their services and support to expectant mums and new parents and babies.
Meetings are held on a two monthly basis in a relaxed atmosphere to encourage people to discuss their experiences. Whether you attend once or come to every meeting, these opportunities for discussion are invaluable in helping us develop your local maternity services. Service users also hold their own informal groups in between the full MVP.
Being part of the MVP is a great way for you to express your views on the maternity care received during pregnancy, throughout the birth and postnatal care.
We value your views and opinions, as these enable us to shape the future of your maternity services.
There are opportunities to meet and talk to other parents either individually or in a group setting about your experiences of maternity care in our area.
Babies and children are welcome at MVP meetings. Alternatively, we can reimburse childcare expenses on production of a receipt from an Ofsted accredited childcare provider. We also reimburse travel expenses on submission of a mileage claim form.
If you would like to join the MVP or would like to make any comments, please call 01524 519379 or email morecambebay.mvp@nhs.net
