Sarcomas are a rare group of cancers found in the body’s connective tissues, such as bone, cartilage, fat, blood vessels, nerves and muscles. Sarcomas can broadly be divided into either bone or soft tissues. Although related, bone and soft tissue sarcomas need quite different types of treatment.
We provide support, information, counselling and education to you and your relatives and carers throughout treatment.
Soft tissue sarcoma treatment usually involves surgery to remove the tumour. This might be followed by chemotherapy and/or radiotherapy. Your treatment will depend on where the cancer developed, the type of sarcoma it is, how far it has spread, your age and your general health.
