Patient safety and critical incident briefing
The NHS as a whole, including our Trust, remains under relentless and sustained pressure. Because of these pressures, we have now declared an ‘internal critical incident’ which allows us to be able to take additional steps to maintain safe services for our patients and help us cope with the growing pressures.
New system introduced to welcome new colleagues to UHMBT -MS Pre-Onboarding
The Learning and Organisational Development Team, have introduced a new system called Microsoft (MS) Pre-Onboarding, specifically to support new Colleagues in the weeks from when they are offered the role to their first few weeks working with us.
Anaesthetists from UHMBT elected to royal college council
Two doctors from UHMBT have been elected to the council of the Royal College of Anaesthetists. Dr Sunil Kumar, an associate specialist based at Furness General Hospital, and Dr Andy Smith, a consultant based at Royal Lancaster Infirmary, have been appointed to the 24-person council for a term of up to 10 years.
