UHMBT are proud to be re-launching the Safe Sleep offer within the Trust.
Each year around 200 babies will sadly die unexpectedly before their first birthday. Many of these deaths are classified as Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) or cot death, which usually happens when babies are sleeping.
When an infant aged 12 months or under attends UHMBT, staff will ask the caregiver or parent for information regarding the sleeping arrangements for their baby. Caregivers and parents will be signposted to relevant, evidence-based advice and support regarding safer sleep to enable them to make informed decisions regarding where their baby sleeps.
Safer sleep information and resources can be found below.
