In April, UHMBT received a generous award of £84,000 from the national Coronavirus campaign by NHS Charities Together. Now these funds are being spent on improvements and schemes to benefit frontline staff working tirelessly at these hospitals.

Attend Anywhere – an online video consultation tool – is being rolled out across University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust (UHMBT) as part of its coronavirus (COVID-19) response in partnership with hospitals across Lancashire and South Cumbria. Attend Anywhere was first trialled with the Trust’s Paediatrics team and received great feedback from staff and patients.

From early childhood, Carol Brearley, of Morecambe, had a dream to be a nurse just like her role model – her mum Ruth Rattigan. Ruth trained in Woolwich during the Second World War and worked all over the country as a nurse over a 40 year period. She finished working as a night sister in Halifax.
