We want to give organisations of all sizes the opportunity to be part of our annual public health events and contribute to transforming the health and wellbeing of our region.
Together we can make big changes in the wellbeing of people around Morecambe Bay.
Healthier lifestyles and healthier people brings a huge range of potential benefits, including:
-
Reduced burden on NHS services
-
Healthier children and families
-
A more productive workforce
-
A stronger local economy
-
Lower environmental impact
Organised by University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust (UHMBT), Bay Health Festivals runs events and activities around the Morecambe Bay region to support and inspire healthy choices for body and mind.
UHMBT Lead Chaplain Ian Dewar, the founder of the festivals, says: “The aim of Bay Health Festivals is to help people to improve their mental and physical health.
“Since we launched in 2016 we have welcomed thousands of people to our events around the Morecambe Bay area, inspiring small changes that make a big difference to life, health and happiness.
“We’re not here to tell people what to do, or what not to do. We’re just here to share ideas that can help people to maintain and improve their health. It could be as simple as cooking one healthy recipe a week, walking or riding a bike for short journeys, or even just getting out to socialise and make new friends.
“We hope all our visitors get inspiration for at least one small change they could make that would make a big difference to their health and happiness.”
