This year, the Macmillan cancer charity is highlighting how people can get the support they need, and how together we can help everyone affected by cancer.

On World Cancer Day under the campaign theme ‘United by Unique’, UHMBT and many other organisations are recognising diversity. Everyone has unique needs, unique perspectives and unique stories to tell, yet despite our differences, we are united in our shared ambition to lower the global cancer burden and to provide high-quality cancer care for all.

At UHMBT, we have a dedicated Cancer section on our website to highlight the services and teams we have available to support patients, families and carers who are affected by cancer.

Please take a look at the website which will provide information on the cancer teams and services available at UHMBT.

The Macmillan Cancer Information and Support Service (MCISS) at UHMBT is a friendly team which offers high quality information, emotional support and practical advice to people affected by cancer.

If you or someone you care about has been diagnosed with cancer, then the Macmillan Cancer Information and Support Service is here to help.

As a non-nursing service they work alongside the cancer teams providing support for the people of North Lancashire and South Cumbria.

Every story matters and together we can make a difference. Share your story and inspire
