Urgent Response Funding

Posted on: 26 April 2020

A few weeks ago, the Urgent Response Fund was set up to quickly provide financial support to community organisations across the Lancaster district that were working to mitigate the impact of the coronavirus outbreak.

Charities across Lancaster & Morecambe District have been doing incredible work in caring for people and communities affected by COVD-19. Working together with our NHS & Lancaster City Council, we set up the Urgent appeal fund to make sure we look after charities to ensure they can keep on doing their vital work.

In these difficult times, we are continuing to raise much needed funds so that these amazing charities can continue to deliver the best possible care to communities right across this district. We have already started making grants to groups such as Eggcup, a charity that provides meals to vulnerable people. All funds raised will cover above and beyond what charities alone can provide such as mental health support, volunteer expenses, personal safety equipment and much more.

These charities are embedded in our communities and will be around long after COVID-19 has gone, helping people to rebuild their lives. As a local charity ourselves that exists to support charities, we ask you to visit our giving page and donate so that all fund raised go towards to helping these amazing charities.

We also kindly ask that you share our appeal with your colleagues, friends and family. Thank you, every penny donated will make a really big difference.

Please donate here.
