Jalibani Ndebele UHMBT.jpgUniversity Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust (UHMBT) is delighted to have appointed two new non-executive directors to its Board of Directors.

Jalibani Ndebele and Alison Cole, who were both previously associate non-executive directors of UHMBT, have been appointed as full non-executive directors.

Jalibani works for North Staffordshire Combined Healthcare NHS Trust as the Associate Director of Operations responsible for the strategic planning, operational management and delivery of the operational elements of patient care, ensuring that key safety, quality and financial objectives are met. He is a leader with extensive healthcare experience at regional and local level.

Jalibani’s prior role was for NHS England as a Lead for Specialised Services, heading up a dynamic team delivering services across the North West. His team at the National Renal Complement Therapeutics Centre won the Bright Ideas in Health Award for Research Delivery Impact in 2018.

Alison has 40 years of experience in health care, most recently within NHS England as Deputy Director of Nursing and Quality. She trained as a nurse and midwife and worked at UHMBT from 1992 to 2007 as a midwife and general manager.

Alison also spent five years at AQUA (the Advancing Quality Alliance) as Head of the Academy focusing on continuous quality improvement and facilitating collaborative improvement work. She is passionate about patient safety and continuous improvement, and is keen to support UHMBT to make improvements.

Alison has replaced Dr Hugh Reeve, who has now left the Trust, and Jalibani will replace Adrian Leather, who is leaving the Trust at the end of May 2024.

Mike said: “I would like to congratulate Jalibani and Alison on their new roles and I look forward to continuing to work with them.

“I would also like to thank Hugh and Adrian whose expert input and direction have helped our Trust to improve care and services for our patients and local communities. We are immensely grateful to Hugh and Adrian for their dedication and service.”
