University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust (UHMBT) is delighted to have appointed one new Non-Executive Director and two new Associate Non-Executive Directors to its Board of Directors.
Nicola Haywood-Cleverly, joins the Trust as a Non-Executive Director and Keith Andrew Robertson and Mike Wilson, both join as Associate Non-Executive Directors.
Nicola is excited to be working with UHMBT and brings with her a wealth of expertise in delivering improvements across the health sector. She has a lifelong relationship with the North West region and welcomes this opportunity to give something back.
With a background in engineering, Nicola has been a Chief Digital and Information Officer for the NHS in hospital, mental health and community trusts, integrated care systems and policing.
Having a deep understanding of good governance from being a university governor, school governing body chair and National Police Technology Council deputy chair, Nicola brings executive level experience in strategy development, performance oversight, resourcing and investment, risk and assurance. She is a Board member at South Lakes Housing and Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust, which will complement and benefit her work as a NED at UHMBT.
Neurodiverse, with lived experience of one parent families and being a carer, Nicola is a compassionate leader focussed on assuring the diverse needs of the communities she serves are met. It drives her passion and desire to deliver the best quality care for people, to address health inequalities and to protect the most vulnerable in society.
Mike is based in Kendal and says he has been fortunate enough to live and work in this area all his life.
As an Associate Non-Executive Director, his role involves supporting the Trust Board in delivering high-quality healthcare to the local population. He collaborates closely with other Non-Executive Directors and stakeholders to ensure that the Board's decisions reflect the needs and concerns of the community.
Living within the community, he is acutely aware of the impact that the Trust's level of care has on individuals, their families, and the community at large. Therefore, he is committed to enhancing the quality of services provided by the Trust.
Mike has been working with the Board, first as a Governor and now as an Associate Non-Executive Director, to help integrate the local care systems and the services our hospitals offer with those of the surrounding trusts. This integration enables UHMBT to assist other Trusts that may need support in certain areas whilst seeking help in areas where we can improve.
