Our services are on their way back…

Posted on: 27 May 2020

Over the last two months, we have had to make some necessary changes to the services we offer to patients across Morecambe Bay. These changes were made to protect the safety of our staff and patients, limit the number of people in our hospitals, and to help reduce the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) in our communities.

Some of the changes we made included postponing non urgent, elective operations; making some of our Outpatients appointments virtual rather than face to face; restricting visiting and access to our hospitals; and moving some services to different locations.

We are now in the position to be able to restore some of the services that we changed or postponed whilst we focused dealing with the outbreak. It is vitally important that this is done in a safe way and that we have all the necessary arrangements in place to protect you as you come into our hospitals or access our community services, and also to continue to protect our staff.

We are currently working through which services could return, how they could return and what we need to put into place to keep everyone safe whilst allowing you to receive the care and treatment you need.

We will share more information about this as soon as it is available. In the meantime, please continue to attend for your appointments unless you hear directly from us.

Stay safe and we’ll see you soon.
