Healthcare heroes from across Morecambe Bay were honoured at University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust’s (UHMBT) seventh Health Heroes award ceremony at the Villa at Levens, near Kendal, on Friday evening (22 March).
Around 130 staff, volunteers, governors, partners and fundraisers joined together at the annual awards ceremony which honours those on the front line of hospital life, out in the community and those hard at work behind the scenes at the Royal Lancaster Infirmary, Westmorland General Hospital, Furness General Hospital, Ulverston Community Health Centre and Morecambe’s Queen Victoria Health Centre.
Colleagues from UHMBT, Bay Health and Care Partners and the local Integrated Care Communities were all recognised for their outstanding contribution during the evening.
Aaron Cummins, Chief Executive, UHMBT, said:
“We’d like to thank everyone who attended this year’s awards ceremony for making it a truly unforgettable night. It’s fantastic to see such a variety of staff from across the Trust and our health and care partners being celebrated and honoured for their ongoing hard work.
“The incredible number of nominations we received for each award are a real testament to the high standards of care being carried out every day across local services, and something that we should all feel very proud to be a part of.
