Local charity, South Cumbria Breastfeeding Support (SCBS) is inviting local mums to show their appreciation of NHS staff who have helped them to breastfeed. SCBS gives the Breast Friend Award each year to acknowledge and celebrate good practice in breastfeeding support within the NHS, in and around South Cumbria. Getting great support from the NHS when you have a baby can make all the difference to a mum’s breastfeeding experience. The Breast Friend Awards thanks NHS staff for all their support.

Any NHS Health Professional working in South Cumbria, or who has worked with a family who lives in this area can be nominated. This could include, for example, Midwives, Maternity Assistants, Health Visitors, Obstetricians, GPs, Nurses, Paediatricians or Dieticians.

We love to hear good news stories, and to publicise and celebrate good practice, so please nominate your NHS Breast Friend using our simple nomination form. You can make as many nominations as you would like.

Nominations for 'Breast Friend' Awards close on 15th June.
