Ian Dewar Lead Chaplain UHMBT.jpgWould you like to take part in carol singing or entertainment for patients at the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI) this Christmas?

If the answer is yes, then staff at the hospital would love to hear from you.

Singers, musicians and other performers would be extremely welcome to come to the hospital for carol singing over the festive period.

Lead Chaplain, Ian Dewar, said: “Carol singers often go round wards at Christmas, and the staff would love to extend a bit of festive cheer to our Outpatient Departments as people wait to be called for their appointment. Whether it’s a choir, a musician or even if you’re a juggler, we can make a difference and have some fun.”

Linda Williams, Department Manager for Ophthalmology at the RLI, said: “We would like to get some carol singers to visit to make Christmas more special for our patients.”

Ian added: “Everyone is welcome to join us for carol singing. I have already contacted a couple of church groups and a number of staff are happy to join in.

“We recognise that the festive season can be very busy, so we are going to keep a calendar in December and people can offer to take a slot that is best for them.”

If you would like to take part in carol singing and/or entertainment at the RLI over Christmas, please email Ian Dewar at: ian.dewar@mbht.nhs.uk or phone 01524 519231
