The Information Sharing Gateway, an innovative online system led by the Digital Solutions Team at UHMBT, has been announced as a finalist in the ‘Effective Information Sharing and Security’ category of the iNetwork Awards
The Information Sharing Gateway (ISG) is a digital platform on which organisations can record information sharing agreements between departments and partner organisations. It was first developed in 2014 and is now being used nationally by over 6,000 users in nearly 4,000 public sector organisations.
The UHMBT Digital Solutions team recently embarked on a new exciting project, in collaboration with their public sector partners across the newly formed ISG User Community, to develop Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIA) on the system.
DPIA’s are an essential part of an organisation’s accountability obligations, and this new development will help ISG users to complete the assessments using a standardised approach. This includes the ability to complete screening, collaborate on detail, assign and allocate tasks to other users to enable consultation, generate a risk assessment, review and provide easy access to DPIAs for internal and external auditing purposes.
The ISG DPIA Module, due in Spring 2021, was built at UHMBT in partnership with Fraxinus and in collaboration with our ISG National User Community.
Winners of the iNetwork awards will be announced on Thursday 11th March 2021.
