Hearing aid guidance for UHMBT patients during the COVID-19 pandemic

Patients who use NHS hearing aids are being advised that they can still access hearing aid batteries and repairs during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic in North Lancashire and South Cumbria.

University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust (UHMBT) is providing a postal service for hearing aid batteries and repairs across all three of its main hospital sites in Barrow, Kendal and Lancaster.

Patients can telephone the departments to request batteries and they can also post any faulty hearing aids to the department so that they to be repaired and posted back safely.

The contact number for NHS hearing aid patients at Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow is 01229 870870, extension number 54078. At Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal is: 01539 795369 and the phone number for the Royal Lancaster Infirmary is: 01524 591551.

For hearing aid repairs, NHS patients are advised to post their hearing aid to the local department with their name and address, The hearing aid will then be repaired and posted back as soon as possible.
