In the interests of patient safety and the protection of health and care staff, volunteers and visitors, no change to the wearing of PPE and face masks and the other protective measures employed by hospitals, GP and other primary care practices, will be made on 27 January 2022. All staff, patients and visitors should continue to follow existing rules and measures for their safety and protection and the protection of others.

Therefore, all colleagues, volunteers, patients and visitors to hospitals, GP practices, dental practices, optometrists and pharmacies will still be required to do the following:

  • HANDS: Wash hands regularly with soap and water or hand gel if hand washing facilities are not available
  • FACE: Wear surgical face masks (not coverings) in all public areas in our buildings
  • SPACE: Stay at least 2m away from people wherever possible and ensure workplaces are COVID Secure
  • FRESH AIR: Ensure areas are well ventilated wherever possible by opening windows, etc

We will not make any changes to these requirements until we have a clear instruction that we no longer need to do so.

Please watch out for further updates but in the meantime, please remember that the safety of all colleagues, volunteers, patients and visitors is an absolute priority for us. We appreciate your ongoing support.
