Colleagues at Trust boost War on Waste Travel Campaign

12 December 2019

Colleagues at University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust have been giving their feedback on an important new campaign designed to save vital NHS funds – and further opportunities for staff members to have their say are coming up!

The War on Waste (WOW) Travel Campaign will be running stalls at the Trust’s three main sites in December and January so that members of staff can ask questions, give their views, share ideas and pick up information.

The campaign team is also looking for details on any transport costs incurred in colleagues’ areas of work.  If you work at the Trust and would like to visit one of the stalls they will be held in the restaurant at the Royal Lancaster Infirmary on December 17, in the restaurant at Furness General Hospital in Barrow on January 14 and in the restaurant at Westmorland General Hospital in Kendal on January 16 from 12pm to 2pm.

As part of Listening Into Action (LiA) Wave 15, Listening Events will be carried out in the new year by the WOW Travel Campaign team and colleagues can also give their views and share ideas any time by using the contact details at the end of this story.

The WOW Travel Campaign Team is encouraging colleagues to make journeys only when essential or unavoidable, to reduce face-to-face meetings where appropriate and to consider using alternatives such as Office 365 Teams meetings / phone calls.

This useful video demonstrates the features and functions of the Office 365 Teams app, and there is a wealth of information on the many new and exciting collaborative features available within Office 36 on the intranet pages.

Headsets (to use with Office 365 Teams web meeting facility) are available to request from the I3 Service Desk.

If you have any ideas on how to cut down on travel costs, please share your thoughts with the WOW campaign by:
