Every day, across our hospitals, our staff are doing wonderful things to improve the care they provide to our patients across Morecambe Bay. In our latest news, you will see numerous stories about our staff going over and above to improve services, and we wanted to take the opportunity to update you on a few stories ‘From the Archives’. Here we re-visit some of the great news stories and update you on what's happened since.
Back in June 2016 University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust (UHMBT) announced that it would start to phase out the sale of soft drinks in its premises
The Diabetes Centre at Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI) is already achieving a key goal of improved patient care and outcomes, less than a year after being officially opened.
The Hello My Name Is campaign was created by Kate Granger, a registrar in elderly medicine, and husband Chris Pointon in August 2013 after Kate was diagnosed with terminal cancer. It is now supported by millions of people across the world.
The ‘Patient Initiated Follow-Up Service’ (PIFU) was introduced as a pilot by the Trust in February 2017 in rheumatology and more than 900 patients under different specialities have transferred onto this new system since the launch.
